Wanted To Introduce Myself
With the new blog format and all of the new readers and followers we have, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.
My name is Rick Axtothefacenheimer (not my real name, it is cool though) and I own and write most of the articles and reviews for Dr. Goremans. I was born the day after Christmas in 1980 and saw my first horror movie at a drive in, it was the original Nightmare On Elm Street. As I was growing up, my Mom worked at a mom and pop video store in my hometown of Rancho Cucamonga, California. It was a great place to go, a huge section was dedicated to all the best and worst of horror and exploitation VHS. All of the beautiful big box artwork would call out to me saying, "watch me". I was able to go to work with my Mom a lot, especially during the summer so I would grab 3-4 movies at a time and take them behind the counter to enjoy. My parents were cool, I never really had any restrictions on what I could watch, they believed censorship was like sheltering. Stuff on the news is worse than anything in a movie. Anyway, I grew up with a love for horror, especially obscure and 80's stuff. I have 7 kids of my own, 4 boys and 3 girls, the oldest are my girls and my 8 year old loves Nightmare On Elm Street. I have always had a love for writing so late last year, I decided to start a horror website. Having to do all of the HTML coding and designing was very tedious so I moved to a blog format. I like it better and it is a lot more popular with our readers. I have made a lot of online friends with the blog, a lot of independent film makers as well. I am starting to work on a list of my favorite horror films of all time so I hope to have that up soon. I just wanted to tell you guys a bit about myself and thank all of our readers, fans, friends, and the indie guys that send us their films to review. All of you are greatly appreciated and I look forward to continue giving you a quality website and making new friends. If you ever want to chat, my email is dr_goremans@yahoo.com
