Sleepaway Camp Review

HorrorBlips: vote it up!

Welcome to camp. Angela has a secret, and it shocked the world back in the 80s, and I still think the shock stands up today. What we have here is another slasher, but the murders in this one are particularly nasty(just check out the pervert chef who gets boiling broth poured over his head). The movie starts out in the lake surrounding Camp Arrawack, where Angela, her brother Peter and their father are spending the day on their sailboat. It isn't long before two careless teenagers crash into the family, killing Peter and his father. After this incident, Angela goes to live with her unusual Aunt Martha and her five year old son Ricky. The story picks up 8 years later, and Angela and Ricky are being sent to camp. Ricky has been going for years, but its Angela's first time. She soon becomes the target of the camps bullies and overprotective Ricky will not stand for it......Who is the killer?? Is it Angela?? The foul mouthed Ricky?? Or is it someone else?? This is truly a great slasher, building up the tension and suspense, before hitting you with probably the greatest shock in celluloid history. Gore wise, you get the obligatory arrow through the neck, a camper getting stung to death while visiting the toilet, and the aforementioned chef meeting his soup. If you haven't already, check out this gem of a movie. I am sure you'll fall in love with camp all over again.....for a while at least!!
